Thirty Two had an event to premiere the new outerwear collection at the etnies showroom in NYC last night. We documented the festivities using the new Casio Exilim 5.1 Megapixel camera phone. It was a hot night but the set up was chill, there was beer provided by Brooklyn Brewery, ping pong on the roof, DJ Soul on the 1’s & 2’s and a good crowd. It was a good time minus a little scuffle. Check the pics, all shot with the camera phone.

Google maps launched a personalized mapping service, My Favorite Places, yesterday. My Favorite Places lets users select from famous celebrities and trend setters - such as Moby, Masaharu Morimoto, the homie Coltrane Curtis, Tony Hawk and yours truly “Hawaii” Mike - and see what sort of favorite restaurants, cafés, shops and other things that they let you in on. There are 14 different cities highlighted and some participants were asked for the favorite global destinations.
I was asked to let users know the best shops for kicks in NYC, check my map and everyone elses here.

Just got back from the inaugural Outerspace tradeshow in Barcelona and finally have some pictures to post. We’ll start with one of the best sneaker collections we have seen in one place. It wasn’t about the new limited editions, collaborations or just a new colorway, this was an EXTENSIVE collection of vintage sneakers dating back to the ’60s that would make any head gasp. The exhibition was curated up by Marco Colombo and Henrik “Artoo” Kürschner. It was part their personal collection along with other European collectors: Julia “Sneakerqueen” Schoirer, Lars “Kelle” Vetter, Chris “Langer” Sachse, Eddie and David Fauks and Tim “Tony” Seligmann. It was complete with boxes and all, the collection is said to have been valued at over 1 Million dollars. Too many to list check the pics for highlights.
