People feel that female rap has been in a slump for years now but we have a match made in the streets, Lil Kim a/k/a The Queen Bee vs newcomer Nicki Minaj a/k/a The Mistress. Lil Kim is one female rapper who has had her share of success and stardom through her lusty lyricism. Now that the game is changing, new talent has given birth to Nicki Minaj, an up and comer on Lil Waynes Young Money label. Lil Kim and Nicki Minaj both have sexy and confident attitudes and the comparisons have even birthed a mixtape dubbed the Queen and the Mistress featuring both ladies (download). See Queen Bee and the First lady of Young Money pics after the jump and you tell us who you would rather go home to at night.
The Nasty Tee is the newest and hottest release from UNDRCRWN’s Summer 2009 Music Series. The significance of the 69 on the back, not referring to anything physical/sexual, is simply to give praise and recognition to an incredible year in NY Baseball. Ladies and Gentlemen all across New York City and beyond,
On August 29th, 1958 a musical legend came into this world and for the next 50 years shared his passions with the entire globe. He made us laugh, cry, shout, dance, believe, grow, and change. Change things for others and change things within ourselves!
For that we celebrate!
This coming Tuesday (August 11th) we launch our 7 week-long series commemorating, remembering, and celebrating the life of a man who gave us his all! In this series we’ve gathered a group of the hottest djs in NYC and have them rocking the jams from MJ alongside another musical icon or genre.
The series begins this Tuesday with a SMASH:
Michael Jackson Birthday Celebration SeriesVol. 1 of 7: ALL I DO
MJ vs STEVIE WONDER
w/ DJ BEVERLY BOND
DJ SOUL
& DJ STIMULUS
3 MARQUEE DJs IN ONE NIGHT!!!!
You don’t want to miss this event!
We’ve entitled Vol 1 of the Series ALL I DO, which is (clearly) a reference from the very popular Stevie Wonder jam, because all many of us have been doing since June 25th is thinking about and remembering MJ. The maybe not so clear reason that we’ve cleverly entitled Vol. 1 ALL I DO is because, as many of you may NOT know (but we’re sure many of you do), that song was a MJ/Stevie collaboration, with Michael singing on the hook of the song! Cool fun fact!

10.Deep has a big week in store and your support is needed. 10.Deep is presenting the 2nd clip of the young Atlanta talent Donnis for his upcoming Diary of an Atlanta Brave mixtape project, which releases August 20. This week’s video features Needlz, who has previously collaborated with artists like 50 Cent on “Piggy Bank” and Lupe Fiasco on the song “Hurt Me Soul.” This time, Needlz is providing the backdrop for “Gone,” which will be on the mixtape. Where and how Donnis has linked with this caliber of producers he has is a mystery to us, but we take it as indicative of talent of the young Atlanta upstart. Stay Tuned for part III.
