Mind. Body. Soul. @ Knitting Factory
Mind. Body. Soul. is being held January 20th at the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn. The Heavy Sound, a music collective consisting of world-class artists, celebrity DJs and musicians, will be presenting a night of music to raise awareness of diabetes. Actor Michael Rapaport will host the event alongside Malik Isaac Taylor, better known as Phife Dawg from A Tribe Called Quest. As a diabetic, Phife recently received a long-awaited kidney transplant and this event will mark his first appearance in New York City since the surgery. An amazing lineup will take to the stage for special performances including Ghostface Killah, Jay Electronica, Consequence, Talib Kweli and more. D-Lyfe, who has worked with artists such as Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson & Notorious B.I.G., is set to DJ throughout the evening. Expect surprise appearances both onstage and in the DJ booth. Various diabetic support organizations will be on-site and donations are highly encouraged. Tickets will be free with RSVP, info below:
