HIGHLIGHT REEL: “BIRDMAN” vs. “ALWAYS SHOWTIME”
The “Brand for Champions” Undrcrwn is putting their own twist on the famous courtship rivalry between iconic NBA players Magic Johnson and Larry Bird. Starting from a college game in 1979 it took on a life of its own several years later and now is the ultimate known rivalry for all hoop heads.
To commemorate those moments in history, the “Birdman” and “Always Showtime” tee has evolved. On that note, let’s toast to the weekend & playoff season! Both the ‘Birdman Tee’ and ‘Always Showtime’ tee are currently for sale on www.shopundrcrwn.com.
Puma’s Clever Little Bag
In the spirit of ecofriendliness and sustainability, PUMA has partnered with world-renowned designer Yves Béhar to create a new packaging system that truly rethinks the way shoes are sold. Béhar’s new sneakerbox packaging consists of very little cardboard and a biodegradable plastic bag that eliminates the use of an extra plastic shopping bag. As a result of the 65% paper reduction through the “Clever Little Bag” concept, PUMA will reduce water, energy and diesel consumption on the manufacturing level by more than 60% per year. PUMA’s apparel collections will also be bagged using sustainable material, replacing traditional polyethylene bags. This means that 720 tons of polyethylene bags can be avoided per year, which equals a saving of 29 million plastic bags — enough to cover an area the size of 1000 football pitches. If that’s not taking care of the earth I don’t know what is. Pics below.
