The Suzan LP Release
Japanese girl band (songs are sung in English), The Suzan dropped their first LP on Fool’s Gold Records this week. The album is called “Golden Week for the Poco Poco Beat” and features 13 tracks of pop-infused, electro/house music with infectious dance beats. Hipsters/Japanese pop enthusiasts rejoice, word to your girlfriend’s fedora and Chuck Taylors. The album is available on iTunes.

According to some statistics uncovered by Gizmodo there are some 5,000 janitors in the U.S. with PhDs, no that’s not a typo. The guy who is cleaning up the conference room after your budget meeting may have more education than you. Signs of the times.
Death To Hipsters?
An interesting article from New York Magazine attempting to define a subculture as if it were a rare species of bird on the brink of extinction. The article is so ironic and self-deprecating that you might pull out the vintage flannel and PBR, be careful.

In a recent study by Mashable social media networks are actually making people more social (insert gasp). This may come as a shock to those of you who are quick to blame social media for the decline in face-to-face interaction in today’s society. Did it ever occur to you that maybe people just don’t want to talk to YOU because all you do is complain about social networking technology? Just a thought, not trying to make anyone self-conscious or anti-social of course.

These two were designed by Fieg and online, lifestyle magazine: Cultureshoq. Each boot is limited to 48 pairs and retails for $140 USD at DavidZ (online store and Flagship Store). If you are familiar with any of the Nexus Project’s previous releases, then you know you don’t have much time to get your pair so don’t sleep.
