Sorel for Concepts Boots
For the second year, our good friends in Beantown present the Sorel for Concepts Winter Men’s & Women’s Boot Collaboration. Yes ladies, Frank “The Butcher” and the Concepts team have you covered too! The text was written so well we thought we let your read it straight from the source, check it out and pics below.
“At Concepts, Winter is our favorite season. It’s the part of the year where we launch partnership projects that fit the lifestyle of the Boston consumer who invest in being ready for the cold. It is the section of the calendar where fashion and function compete for closet space. ‘What’s better than being prepared for what New England has to offer in the form of extreme weather?’ Looking good doing it.”
“Concepts has partnered with Sorel for the second year in a row with the intention of finding the sweet spot at the intersection of designing for fashion and creating for purpose. We are offering 2 models, the Men’s 1964 Premium and the Women’s Tivoli— both styled in charcoal wool, red high lights and replacing Sorel’s traditional rubber toe with rich leather.”
The Sorel for Concepts boots will be available on Black Friday, November 26th, at Concepts. You can place phone orders at @ 617.868.2001.

Four Loko Stories
As our time with Four Loko is running out all over the country, we discovered a site that allows you to share your opinions/stories or both on how life just isn’t the same without Loko kicking off your weekend.
Suck it, Avatar
Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Target, GameStop etc…were all transformed into war zones (pun INtended) on COD’s recent release and now as the smoke clears we see the damage that was done. Something like 650 MILLION dollars worth in FIVE days. That’s a lot of pissed off girlfriends/wives, missed college classes, and sick days at work. *kanyeshrug.
Sellin Kilos through your iPod Nano
Or maybe just telling time. Anywho, remember when we featured Kickstarter in one of our lists awhile back? Of course you do, well here is another reason you should check them out: Scott Wilson, former Creative Director for Nike watches and head of Chicago based design studio, MINIMAL has a page on Kickstarter to raise funding for a project to create and sell a real iPod watch. The two models will be the “Tik Tok” and the “Lunatik” and they will be surprisingly affordable at $35 and $70 respectively.
Black Scale Invades NYC
Our Bay Area homies over at Black Scale, took yet another step in building their brand by setting up shop over in our neighborhood here in NYC. Earlier this week, on their opening day, we stopped by to kick it with Mega and the crew. Check it out.
Pacquiao Rearranges Margarito’s face (really)
Following Nellys “surprise” performance last Saturday in Dallas, Manny Pacquiao took the much bigger Antonio Magarito to school for 12 rounds, once again backing up talks of him being the best fighter in the world. Word has it that “Tijuana Tornado” had to get surgery a few days after the fight due to a fractured right eye socket. I guess mocking Freddie Roach wasn’t the best idea after all now was it?
“Knock em out the box”
Zuckerberg and his team of “social media experts” blindsided competitors by taking steps to make Facebook more appealing to web users by incorporating a more personal approach to reaching out to your “friends.” Outside of browsing through our friends walls for the latest scoop, we’ll soon be able to text message, instant message, as well as send a traditional email with our new “@facebook.com” email account….Apparently, Gmail experienced a 10 minute disruption during the announcement. AOL and Yahoo better watch out. via Businessweek
A Beautiful Mind
Creative brand, Imaginary Foundation is opening a gallery show today in San Francisco at FIFTY24SF. The show is a comment on how even though the mind is divided (left brain/right brain), only when both sides work together are we truly at full thinking/feeling/ideating power. In addition to the show, the brand will also be running a pop up store in the space from November 20-28. Check out the Undivided Mind site for more info.
Steady MOBbin Holiday 2010
Progressive women’s streetwear brand Married To the Mob unleashed its Holiday 2010 Lookbook upon us this week. The collection is filled with its trademark t-shirts with not so carefully veiled inuendos and modern, tailored pieces for girls that want to look feminine but still want some flavor. Check more images at hypebeast.
Either build or DESTROY
The Nike Destroyers campaign has been generating a lot of buzz as of late. The idea was born out of the axiom that things must be destroyed in order to be born anew. Examples of this can be found in many religious texts, literature, movies etc…it’s definitely a concept that we as humans are fascinated by. Nike will be adding more depth to this project by producing a journal coinciding with the project’s launch. The journal will grant us a deeper look into the creative process, products and the minds behind Nike Destroyers. They are even planning an installation at Bowery stadium in NYC. via hypebeast.
Lebron 8 “South Beach” Release
After a wildly successful Miami only release a few weeks back, this highly sought after colorway of Lebron’s newest signature sneaker has released to the masses (sort of). Many boutiques still only got limited numbers or some none at all and as for your local mall….hope you had a connect because we’re sure the number of pairs that were received and the numbers that were actually advertised in most retailers were probably off by a few pairs if you catch our drift.

Heineken Inspire Encore Concert 11/13/10
The Heineken Inspire tour was brought back to New York City for an encore event at Chelsea Piers thanks to fans that voted on the Heineken Facebook page. This event featured free beverages, the brewed kind of course, coupled with only the finest of delicacies: beef patties, hot dogs & tacos. The artist line-up included Roxy Cottontail, Diplo, J.Cole, a special guest appearance by the legendary DJ Kool Herc, Cee Lo Green, Pete Rock & Nas. Cee Lo performed the majority of his new LP “The Lady Killer” with his all-Woman band, Pete Rock brought out Dres from the Native Tounge’s Blacksheep to perform ‘The Choice Is Yours’ and also accompanied Nas in a live rendition of ‘The World Is Yours’. Aside from the musical entertainment, there was an on-site recording booth, for the aspiring rapper to lay down some vocals & have some face-time on the JumboTron, a gaming area, an art gallery with pieces done by Justin Bua, and a lounge area equipped with televisions to rest after the sensory overload. Overall, an exceptional event.
Lastly, make sure to partake in the evening’s festivities with the highlight footage below:

Black Scale opens up shop!
Yesterday, we took a stroll in the neighborhood to check out our homies over at Black Scale in what officially marks their 1st day open here in NYC. While they were still in the process of setting & stocking up, they welcomed us inside for some pics and great conversation.
