Frank The Butcher & Statik Selektah have joined forces on “Concepts: Selektions”. This mixtape is inspired by seminal classic 90’s mixtapes like DJ Doo Wop’s “Live 95″ & Tony Touch’s “50 MCs”. Frank The Butcher worked with Statik on “selecting” some of his most classic beats and revisiting them with new emcees and new lyrics. The tape features veterans like DJ Doo Wop, Dj Clark Kent, Freeway, and Consequence– underground favorites like Detroit’s Black Milk and La Coka Nostra’s Ill Bill– while also featuring lyricists like Curt@!n$, Willie The Kid, Termanology, Maffew Ragazino Sr., Ro Spit — and more– all featured over Statik Selektah production. This right here is the Dope Boy himself, Curt@!n$ “Ready for the Storm”
When I stepped out of the elevator onto the 8th floor of a building in the heart of Union Square, I was greeted by an eager Chad Muska, who was welcoming everyone into his artistic abode. His gallery was housed within a penthouse loft, complete with a kitchen that included chips and the finest in guacamole dip. Chad was much more than just a professional skateboarder and musician this particular evening though. He was entertaining the crowd that had formed, managing the music selection, and continuously rushing back and forth between the gallery to the elevator entrance to grant entry to the art enthusiasts. Artist, socialite, DJ, and doorman all-in-one, all done with a smooth Walt Clyde-esque demeanor. When asked why he was manning the entry button by the elevator he gave an emphatic response, “the dude that was supposed to be my door man for the night called me up not too long ago asking where the gallery was located when I just told him a few hours ago! What the hell?” Enough about the man, take a gander upon the artwork of Chad Muska.
Today, Microsoft and Samsung had a very impressive showing at the currently in progress International CES Conference. The two industry leaders unveiled a product called the SUR40. At first glance it looks like an oversized tablet however, a few seconds of interaction will prove that the 40 inch surface is anything but. The SUR40 with it’s use of next gen Microsoft Surface technology and PixelSense capabilities allow the LCD panels in the device to “see” without the use of cameras. What happens is, when people touch the screen with their hands or place other objects on it, the screen’s sensors recognize exactly what the user is doing/placing on it. Microsoft engineer, Mike Angulo explains the product and gives a demonstration in the video below. Check it out and business consumers look for the SUR40 later on this year in 23 countries including the United States.
CNN just released this video stating the investigation into Biggie’s murder was “reinvigorated” months ago as a result of new information. Retired Los Angeles Police Detective Russell Poole still believe Suge Knight was behind the murder, as well as Tupac’s. Check it out, hopefully something will come out of this.
Just because LTD couldn’t make it to CES doesn’t mean we’re not going to give you the rundown on the products/brands that impressed us. We will be featuring a diverse range of products each day of the conference and wrapping up with some of our individual favorites on Monday.

No, that is not a new Samsung mobile phone. However, you’d be right if you guessed that was the look the company was going for when it designed the RMC30C2. Being one of the world leaders in consumer electronics and product innovation it is no surprise that Samsung would take advantage of increasing trends in integration across our wireless devices. The RMC30C2 doesn’t just change the channel. It actually allows you to wirelessly stream PC, digital camera, cell phone audio and video files using its AllShare™ technology. Additionally, when you want to control apps on your TV (your TV does have apps, doesn’t it?), the remote becomes a full QWERTY keypad. The device is also a bit “Green” as no batteries are needed thanks to a standard power cable. The remote will run you about $300 and you can get your hands on it at the Samsung Marketplace.
Apple has just unveiled its latest and maybe most influential software update in recent history. The Cupertino company has taken the ease and elegance of the mobile app store that has seen unprecedented success over the years and adapted it for Mac users. The store works in a virtually identical manner to the mobile App Store as you can purchase apps via your iTunes account. The other great thing about it is that no longer do you have to purchase bundles like iWork or iLife if you want specific apps. Programs like Garage Band, iPhoto and Keynote are now offered á la carte starting as low as $14.99. Head over to Apple to download and try it out.
