[TECH] New MacBook Pro

Apple just released the new MacBook Pro family. Looks like all of the ports are still the same but say goodbye to your disc drive and hello to the Mac® App Store℠ for all of your applications. Still available in 12″, 15″ and 17″ with new quad processors (yes, 4!), Thunderbolt I/O technology and FaceTime HD. Not sure why we need FaceTime on the MacBook since we have iChat and Skype.

Available at all apple stores and online. Check the full press release below:

“The new MacBook Pro brings next generation dual and quad Core processors, high performance graphics, Thunderbolt technology and FaceTime HD to the great design loved by our pro customers,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. “Thunderbolt is a revolutionary new I/O technology that delivers an amazing 10 gigabits per second and can support every important I/O standard which is ideal for the new MacBook Pro.”

Starting at $1,199 the new 13-inch MacBook Pro offers amazing value and performance in a compact design. Freely available for implementation on systems, cables and devices, Thunderbolt technology is expected to be widely adopted as a new standard for high performance I/O.

The MacBook Pro now includes a built-in FaceTime HD camera with triple the resolution of the previous generation for crisp, widescreen video calls. With Apple’s innovative FaceTime video calling software, the new camera allows high definition video calls between all new MacBook Pro models and supports standard resolution calls with other Intel-based Macs, iPhone® 4 and the current generation iPod touch®. FaceTime is included with all new MacBook Pro models and is available for other Intel-based Macs from the Mac® App Store℠ for 99 cents. The MacBook Pro lineup continues to feature its gorgeous aluminum unibody enclosure, glass Multi-Touch™ trackpad, LED-backlit widescreen display, illuminated full-size keyboard and 7-hour battery.**

[GEAR] TÜNR LAB

I received a email last week from a new accessories company by the name of TÜNR LAB. I spoke with the founder about the product, premium socks and laces to give your footwear game some extra comfort and flash, I gave him my size and this suitcase like box shows up at my doorstep a couple days later.

I didn’t know what to expect but have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The product is well thought out and the socks are crazy comfortable. The best thing about the socks is they’re sized, yes they come in sizes, so they’re really snug on your feet. I’m a sock snob and hate when they bunch up under your feet or don’t cover the back of your ankle. The laces come in lengths made for lows, mids and hi-top kicks and match the colorways of the socks.

They launched with 6 styles, including a collab with Dee & Ricky, with more on the way. Check their online shop TÜNR LAB and “Fine Tune Your Feet.”
