In the market for a new hat AND bike seat? Well fret no more! New Era and Animal Bikes have teamed up with the most wanted man in BMX, Nigel Sylvester, to bring you the “Making Moves Since ‘87 Collection”. The hats come in two variations of red, white, and black silhouettes with Nigel’s signature stitched on the side. These items can be found at Hat Club, Danscomp.com, Karmaloop.com, and other Animal retailers.

Tired of dull dinners? Need creative conversation during your meals? Want to delve into the details of your next marketing campaign with fellow, like-minded, individuals? Well fret not all of you Don Draper’s of the world. Sam Kim of Skimkim Foods and Kat Popiel of On Plate, Still Hungry have come together to generate an event series that incorporates food and art, with a dash of networking, entitled: Something I Ate. See below for more details:
SOMETHING I ATE is collaborative food + art event series created by Sam Kim of Skimkim Foods and Kat Popiel of On Plate, Still Hungry. Aimed to create a platform for creatives to converge using food and drink as a vehicle for connectivity; invited artists are asked to document 7 days of their personal eating experience from zero to x ‘meals’ a day, then to produce an exclusive artwork using whichever media they prefer (photo, paint, jewelry, fashion, film, music, etc). Following this Sam Kim designs a specialty dish inspired by the art piece paired with cocktails.
With Something I Ate, we intend to share various perceptions of food in everyday life and give creatives a dynamic atmosphere in which to potentially collaborate with other creatives on their own future work. The idea is from food, we derive pleasure, satisfaction, energy and inspiration and these elements, whether cognizant of them or not, ignite our creative fires. We hope that by engaging in a ‘breaking bread’ environment creatives will become more at home to explore working with other creatives in the room.
Participating artists include: Shantell Martin, Kinfolk Bicycles, Brian Hubble, Valissa Yoe, Duffy Higgins, Charles Shedden, SlantShack Jerky, Sam Kim, James McDuffee and Mark Byron.
Food & Drink Contributors include: Q Tonic, Asahi, Smart Water, SlantShack Jerky, Landhaus, Roaming Acres, Solerno and La Newyorkina.
Music will be provided by DJ Lloydski. Event photos by Ultra Clay.
