“2K Sports announced today that NBA® 2K11, the top-selling and top-rated NBA video game simulation franchise*, is available now on Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, system, PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system and Windows PC. The game will be available for the Wii™ system from Nintendo in mid-October.”

Duck Down Music and 2K Sports have partnered to present an exciting contest for all aspiring producers and MCs to create unique and original music, along with the special opportunity to have their song included in the upcoming soundtrack for NBA 2K11, the next iteration of the hugely popular NBA 2K series. Phase 1: NBA 2K11 Producer Contest
Starting on March 3rd, producers will have three weeks to create one sample-free instrumental. All submissions must be sent to nba2k11@duckdown.com by March 22nd. Producers are also encouraged to record video of their beat making process, which can be included with their final submission.
The top ten instrumentals will be selected by Duck Down Music A&R and representatives from 2K Sports. Each instrumental will also be streamed online via a link at www.XXLMag.com, as fans will have the chance to vote for their favorite track. The winner will be announced on April 5th.
Phase 2: NBA 2K11 MC Contest
Starting on April 6th, MC’s will have four weeks to submit one clean track using the winning producer’s instrumental, and all submissions must be sent to nba2k11@duckdown.com by May 4th. After the top ten songs are determined by Duck Down Music and 2K Sports, they will again be posted via a link on www.XXLMag.com for fans to hear the tracks. The winner will be announced on May 11th.
The grand prize winners of the contest, which will consist of one producer and one MC, will have their song placed in the music soundtrack for NBA 2K11. In addition, each winner will receive an all-expense paid trip to New York City, where they will have the special opportunity to perform the song live at Duck Down’s CMJ Showcase in October 2010.
2K Sports announced today that they will give away an unprecedented cash prize in the amount of $1,000,000 to the first person who throws a verified perfect game in Major League Baseball® 2K10, the next iteration of the popular Major League Baseball® 2K series, prior to May 2, 2010. The special contest, available for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft through the Xbox LIVE® online entertainment network and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system through the PlayStation®Network*, illustrates 2K Sports’ dedication to delivering vastly improved gameplay and pitching mechanics this season in Major League Baseball 2K10.

To compete, gamers must play in MLB Today mode, select from any of the available matchups, and then choose the option to participate in the ‘Major League Baseball 2K10 contest’ that will automatically default to the proper gameplay settings according to the official gameplay rules. Entries must be recorded via camera or digital video recorder in compliance with guidelines provided by 2K in the Official Rules, and all eligible entrants must submit a copy of their recording in its entirety for verification. Submissions will only be accepted on DVD. To ensure accuracy in the verification and submission process, 2K Sports has partnered with Twin Galaxies International, the worldwide authority on video game world records, and provider of scores to Guinness World Records that are published in the Guinness World Records: Gamer’s Edition. Knocked for its quirky game controls, the Wii never got much love when it came to sports games. NBA 2K10 is here to fix all that. 2K Sports announced yesterday that their latest edition of the popular NBA franchise is now available for the Wii. The Wii version of the of the game will feature a more authentic simulation experience as well as deep career and franchise modes. NBA Today, a new feature in 2K10 will offer, for all systems, real world match-ups, and an automatic streaming feature to keep up to date on what’s really happening in the NBA, from news to commentary to stats. Crews, a new online feature, rews, a new online feature, allows dedicated online players to round up their friends and build the ultimate squad using either created player or an actual NBA team. With that said 2K10 and the Wii have teamed up to box out the couch potato.
