Japanese streetwear brand A Bathing Ape, or BAPE, which was founded by Tomoaki ‘Nigo’ Nagao, is set to be sold to the Hong Kong based clothing company I.T. Ltd. They are purchasing approximately 90% of BAPE’s shares for a sum of $2.8 million dollars. The company behind BAPE, Nowhere Group, has struggled financially over the past few years, being in debt for billions of yen and having reported losses in the millions of yen for the past two calendar years. Despite the buy-out, Nigo will remain on-board as the creative director for at least two years.

This week Treehugger Founder Graham Hill issued a unique challenge to home designers. The premise is that we as humans consume too much and that we’re not any happier than we would be if we had less “stuff”. In fact, Hill posits that we would be MUCH happier with less clutter. That being said he is holding a design contest to transform a 420sq ft apartment into a multifunctional, comfortable living space. Check out his explanation. Earlier this week, we gave you a behind the scenes look via Jordan Brand as Melo was finishing up his new spot promoting the release of his newest sneaker the M7. Well now we have the finished product, take a look!
Bape and Kaws have teamed up, where the infamous Kaws designs are now showcased on the star striped sneaker. The trademark designs such as XX and Chompers teeth patterns are commonplace today but these Bapesta models featured them first in a mass produced products. Colors vary from plain white to metallic silver to camo pattern. Check out the looks, below and you better get your “Kaws” on this collection before they’re all gone.
