Last week, at Le Poisson Rouge, DJ Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Garcia a.k.a. Kool Bob Love threw down on the turntables, with Lord Sear hosting, for an unforgettable 20th anniversary show that was full of surprise guests. Despite my camera battery giving up on the god halfway through the show, I still managed to get great footage. Stretch, Bobbito, and Sear haven’t skipped a beat with their comedic antics throughout the course of the show, which included making remarks about the crowd consisting mostly of men, as you’ll see in the video, and even “pausing” Buckshot when he spoke of his “relationship” with Stretch & Bobbito. Rare footage from WKCR 89-Tek-9 was also shown on a projector screen that included highlights from a 1992 show with Souls of Mischief. The list of guests and performers included a superfluous amount of acts that ranged from: DJ Spinna, Kenny Dope, DJ Eclipse, DJ Riz, DJ Homicide a.k.a. Hungry Jack, DJ A-Trak, DJ Premier, The Artifacts, Buckshot, Rock (Heltah Skeltah), Masta Ace, Raekwon, Masta Killah, The Beatnuts, Pain in da Ass (Jay-Z skits), Nice & Smooth, and Natural Elements. Much respect to Stretch, Bobbito, and Sear for an amazing night of Hip-Hop. Check out the video below for a highlight reel of the evening.

New York City based Design and Communication Agency, Keystone has linked up with heritage brand Hennessy to launch the global campaign titled “Blending of Art”. The project takes 5 avante garde musical artists: Questlove, Q-Tip, Kid Sister, Steve Aoki, and DJ A-Trak and pairs them with 5 innovative visual artists: Aerosyn-Lex, Spaceknuckle, Laundry, Fafi, and Dust La Rock to produce special edition labels for bottles of Hennessy V.S (Very Special). Blending Of Art is the culmination of the idea that all artists communicate in the same creative language which transcends the barriers of any chosen medium. Enjoy pictures of the bottles below. For the the final day of Summer, Fool’s Gold, along with Jelly, The Fader, City Winery and tours truly, LTD+, put on “Day Off”, a free (yes, FREE) all ages get together to celebrate Labor Day. The crowd vibed to great sets from Nick Catchdubs, The Suzan, Slow Roast Crew, Just Blaze, The Brothers Macklovich, Pill, Donnis and Yelawolf.
