Today, official word from EA Sports hits the web that FIFA 11 Ultimate Team will be available as a FREE download for both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 starting November 3, 2010. This version will include players from Major League Soccer and Russian Premier League, a first for this EA title. The addition increases the number of available players to 8,000 from 30 leagues.
However, starting Oct. 27, all gamers who previously played FIFA 09 Ultimate Team or FIFA 10 Ultimate Team, can visit www.easportsfootball.com/ultimateteam and log onto the FIFA 11 Ultimate Team web tool to begin their quest to build the Ultimate Team NOW. The web tool features full auction functionality and links directly to theFIFA 11 Ultimate Team console experience. Gamers that log-on to the FIFA 11 Ultimate Team web tool between Oct. 27 and Nov. 3, will also receive a daily gift. EA Sports’s NBA JAM, will be available in stores worldwide November 17 for the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system and Xbox 360. The video game will be featuring for the first time ever, the arcade classic, and featuring online play.
“At launch, gamers will be able to take on all rivals playing Classic 2-on-2 online^ for the first time ever, measuring their success on Friends and Global Leaderboards. In December 2010, the online features for NBA JAM will expand significantly with several major online features being delivered through a free title update for connected gamers. In December, connected fans will be able to team-up locally and online to compete in Remix Games, including classic arcade hoop games like Backboard Smash,Domination Free-for-All, Elimination, and 21. Fans will also be able to make it a Jam Party online by inviting up to 3 friends to play. Plus, gamers will be able to take on the world in Online Progression, levelling up through a series of challengers and secret online JAM Challenges to unlock online exclusive rewards and hidden content in the ultimate quest for global bragging rights.”
Back in January we let you know EA Sports announced the arcade classic NBA Jam will be hitting the wii system this year. They just released this trailer showcasing how the game plays on the wii system. We can’t wait for this one to hit the shelves. Boom Shakalaka!
EA Sports has just released a new trailer for their highly-anticipated MMA game that’s due out late 2010. There’s a partnership with STRIKEFORCE so things like the cage and the league’s commentary team of Frank Shamrock and Mauro Ranallo, as well as ring announcer Jimmy Lennon Jr., will be incorporated into the game. Legendary mixed martial arts referee “Big John” McCarthy will preside over the in-ring action to help deliver a truly authentic MMA experience.
The second annual Gillette® EA SPORTS Champions of Gaming Tournament, kicks off this wednesday November 18, 2009, on Xbox Live. Due to last years vast enrollment of 350,000 gamers, this year the stakes are getting higher with regional prizes on the line, chance to play your real-life sport superstars, and the ultimate gratification of eternal bragging rights. The competition will run through its starting date until February 2010, where 5 finalist worldwide will be chosen to try and beat the superstars at their own game.
“Last year, our match came down to the final shot. I’ve been practicing and I am ready to take another crack at this year’s best player,” said Tiger Woods, one of the superstars that is amped up for the tournament this year, and winning the crown himself.
The tournament will be available in four EA SPORTS games: Tiger Woods PGA Tour’ 10, Madden NFL 10, FIFA Soccer 10, Fight Night Round 4, and NHL 10 for Xbox 360. To enter the tournament visit the official EA SPORTS website, or follow them on Twitter for up to date info from the tournament itself.
