Guest Editor Eddie Huang: Baohaus NYC x TOKI UNDERGROUND
Last weekend, Evan and I made a trip up to D.C. for our Baohaus NYC pop-up at Toki Underground. Lexus hooked us up with the CT 200h for our drive down. We packed it with over 900 orders of baos, pork belly, beef cheek, and tofu on ice and headed South. There was plenty of French Montana and J.Cole on the stereo all the way, def liked the ipod compatability in the joint. I don’t know if that’s standard on cars these days but I’m usually in yellow cabs so you tell me.
We pulled into Downtown D.C. with only 45 minutes before our scheduled 7pm start time and there was already a line forming outside.
By the time 7pm rolled around Friday night, there was a 3 hour wait for tables at the pop-up. Saturday night, the wait became 6 hours as more people in town heard about it and multiple people came back to back days. Shouts to Chocolate City for all the love! We fux wit you.

But the trip wasn’t all work… Sunday was the off day so you know I had to hit the Skins/Eagles game. What was supposed to be a Vick/Grossman showdown became the first John Beck sighting of the year. The good guys lost, but Beck looked good and reminded me of a young Rich Gannon. Now we just need Santana to do his best Tim Brown impersonation cause Jabbar Gaffney would drop a baby if he could.
