CONVERSE UNVEILS ITS FALL 2010 BRAND CAMPAIGN - “THE PROCESSION”

Converse announced its new Fall 2010 brand campaign entitled “The Procession” featuring product with the iconic Converse “Star Chevron” logo including the new Star Player Evo shoe. Developed to pay homage to legends of Converse’s past, present and future and to celebrate basketball along with the breadth of Converse product, the ad shines a light on the iconic Star Chevron mark and gives nod to its authentic connection to the worlds of sport, music and culture which has helped define Converse for decades. Gritty and raw, the spot was directed by award-winning filmmakerAntoine Fuqua. The ad stars basketball legend Julius “Dr. J” ErvingCarlos Arroyo of the Miami Heat; musicians Jim Jonesand Doug E Fresh; legendary ball-handler God Shammgod and Harlem streetball player Adrian “A-Butta” Walton; Converse skaters Kenny AndersonSammy Baca, Rune Glifberg and Eli Reed; all set to the thunderous “Hello Operator” by alternative rock band, The White Stripes. A unique fusion of all things Converse, “The Procession” speaks in a language that is clear to kids young and old who connect to the brand.

The ad is appropriately named “The Procession”, as each of its cultural, torch-bearer stars symbolically pass the torch and give nod to each other. A true legend of basketball and one of culture, Dr J. and Doug E Fresh represent Converse’s heritage and the brand’s deep connection to sport, music and culture. Simultaneously, Carlos Arroyo, Jim Jones, the Converse skate team, and the others all forge the strong connection of how Converse connects today and for the future.

In addition to the ad, each of the stars are featured in a series of online vignettes taken from outtakes that illuminate their mutual admiration for each other and that blur the lines of sport, music and lifestyle. The resulting short clips showcase new cultural, iconoclastic moments including Kenny Anderson teaching Dr J a kickflip, and God Shammgod showing Sammy Baca how to do the “Shammgod”, his signature crossover move.

Levi’s® x Opening Ceremony

Levi’s® announces “Levi’s® Sherpa-Lined Trucker Jacket by Opening Ceremony”, one in a series of special edition Made in the USA Trucker Jackets for Fall 2010

This fall, Levi’s
® has collaborated with 5 brands to create a series of special edition Levi’s® Work Wear Trucker Jackets, all hand-crafted in the USA. Whether they integrate a signature work wear technology like Filson’s oiled tin cloth, or pay tribute to the distinct aesthetic of a group of American workers, each jacket explores the endless potential of Levi’s® iconic garment through the lens of the respective partnering brand.

Thus far this season, we have unveiled truckers from this series, designed in partnership with Filson and Billy Reid.

The latest, arriving in-stores now, is the launch of a new work wear-inspired trucker jacket designed in collaboration with downtown New York’s leading fashion boutique Opening Ceremony. The Trucker features a patchwork of rigid denims as well as a traditional work wear fabric: the railroad stripe. The inclusion of sherpa into the jacket makes it perfect for cold weather and serves as a nod to the ranchers that popularized the Trucker jacket throughout the last century. This jacket is shrunken down and fits short and snugly.  It comes in both a men’s and women’s version and is accompanied by a matching unisex 505 in the customized Opening Ceremony fit.

The Levi’s® Sherpa Lined Trucker Jacket and Railroad Striped 505 by Opening Ceremony will be available this week at Opening Ceremony stores and better boutiques worldwide as well as on Levi.com in the US.

The jacket will retail for $300.00 and the 505 jeans will retail for $210.00.

NBA® 2K11 Demo Now Available on Xbox Live® Marketplace and PlayStation®Network

2K Sports today announced that a free demo of NBA® 2K11 is now available on Xbox LIVE® for Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation®Network for PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system. The demo will allow players to relive this past season’s exciting NBA Finals and play one quarter as the Los Angeles Lakers or Boston Celtics. The demo will give fans will a glimpse of this year’s improvements, including revamped IsoMotion™ dribbling controls, dynamic shot control and all-new visuals in theNBA 2K11 demo.

2K Sports is going big for the next iteration of NBA 2K, the top-selling and top-rated NBA videogame simulation franchise*. In this year’s edition of NBA 2K, NBA 2K11 will bring recent Hall of Fame inductee, Michael Jordan back to the game. For the first time, fans will be able to play as His Airness and recreate ten of Jordan’s best career games in NBA 2K11, including “The Shrug” game during the 1992 playoffs where Jordan scoredsix three-point shots in a scorching 35-point first-half performance.
