[AUTO] Lexus LF-LC Hybrid Sport Coupe Concept

Lexus just unveiled this LF-LC 2+2 hybrid sport coupe at the Detroit Auto Show. Designed with the driver in mind the intuitive layout incorporates a remote touch-screen that allows the user to operate controls without shifting line of sight. Calty’s design studio really came through with a sleek, performance driven hybrid concept that stands out. Our favorite part, the glass roof giving off that greenhouse effect. Hopefully this one will hit the streets in the not so distant future. More pics below:

Guest Editor Eddie Huang: Baohaus NYC x TOKI UNDERGROUND

Last weekend, Evan and I made a trip up to D.C. for our Baohaus NYC pop-up at Toki Underground. Lexus hooked us up with the CT 200h for our drive down. We packed it with over 900 orders of baos, pork belly, beef cheek, and tofu on ice and headed South. There was plenty of French Montana and J.Cole on the stereo all the way, def liked the ipod compatability in the joint. I don’t know if that’s standard on cars these days but I’m usually in yellow cabs so you tell me.

We pulled into Downtown D.C. with only 45 minutes before our scheduled 7pm start time and there was already a line forming outside.

By the time 7pm rolled around Friday night, there was a 3 hour wait for tables at the pop-up. Saturday night, the wait became 6 hours as more people in town heard about it and multiple people came back to back days. Shouts to Chocolate City for all the love! We fux wit you.

But the trip wasn’t all work… Sunday was the off day so you know I had to hit the Skins/Eagles game. What was supposed to be a Vick/Grossman showdown became the first John Beck sighting of the year. The good guys lost, but Beck looked good and reminded me of a young Rich Gannon. Now we just need Santana to do his best Tim Brown impersonation cause Jabbar Gaffney would drop a baby if he could.

[VIDEO] Lexus LFA Supercar Test Drive

Lexus recently invited a few editors up to the Monticello Motor Club in upstate New York to test drive the LFA Supercar. Yours truly, “Hawaii” MIke, was one of those lucky enough to get behind the wheel of this $350K+ beauty of a machine. Most you don’t know but I love cars, always have, so being able to take to the track was a moment I’ll always remember but you know we had to shoot a video for proof. To ensure it was documented right, we had to enlist the help of the one and only Kellen Dengler (if you don’t know him go check his site) to direct it, and what we got looks like a movie! This should be a commercial, do you hear me Lexus? Don’t be scared to hit us up.

Lexus CT200h Test Drive

Lexus tapped Hawaii Mike to test drive the 2011 CT200h hybrid vehicle. Test driving an automobile in New York City is comparable to seeing how slow the car can go, but we managed to challenge the horse power and go…the speed limit West Side Highway before being greeted with the always friendly influx of traffic. Anyways, the CT200h has a front wheel drive, a 1.8 liter-in-line-4 with continuously Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i) engine with 134hp, and goes from 0-60mph in 9.8 seconds.

Watch as we make a stop by Baohaus and chill with Chairman Bao himself, Eddie Huang, to discuss dirty couches, food, and more!

Also, make sure to check out Tamara Palmer’s interview with Eddie at Baohaus over a new-age East vs. West coast restaurant beef here.

Lexus LFA Super Car

The Lexus LFA Super Car is nothing less than spectacular. It’s equipped with a 4.8ltr V-10 engine, it goes 0-60 in 3.6 sec and has a top speed of 202MPH, nuff said. The LFA features a carbon fiber body for lightweight construction and makes it easily replaceable if damage occurs. Each car is built by hand and the interior is customizable per purchasers requests for materials to colors. The sticker price starts at 375K and only 500 will be offered during the 2 years it will be available, good luck getting one.
