Eddie Bauer/First Ascent outfits Summit on the Summit
We’re sure you know about hip hop heavyweight Lupe Fiasco and a team of educators and influencers embarking on a grueling journey to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. Dubbed “SUMMIT ON THE SUMMIT,” the goal of the journey was to raise awareness about the absence of clean water access across the world. Yesterday, January 12th, the squad reached the 19,340 ft summit of Kilimanjaro!
The team, which consisted not only of Lupe but also included Santigold, Kenna, and Elizabeth Gore (among others), wore gear from Eddie Bauer / First Ascent throughout the expedition. Eddie Bauer / First Ascent is proud to be the official expedition outfitter for SOTS, which aims to uncover solutions to resolve global water issues and discuss how to improve social awareness on the issue. The SOTS: K climbers faced subzero temperatures and First Ascent was there to keep the team warm and fight the fatigue that accompanied the strenuous climb. Additionally, First Ascent Guide Melissa Arnot joined the team and brought her skills as a trained wilderness emergency medic and Leave No Trace trainer. She’s passionate to help tell the story of water and was eager to help get the team to the top!
