We continued our Rooftop Event Series with an evening of Summertime movies, The Warriors and Do The Right Thing, music, tacos, and of course Michelada’s infused with only the finest of beers: Modelo Especial. Introducing the debut collection of Black Apple, a new brand brought to you by the creators of Public School. There is a heavy punk reference in the collection, both in music and style, however this time it’s more about attitude and rebellion. Featuring a lower price point with a broader distribution than Public School, Black Apple will be available nationwide at Urban Outfitters, Metropark and more stores, soon to be announced. Prices range from $32 T-shirts to $169 wool coats to $68 woven shirts to $89 knit tops to $138 PU leather jackets.
Our muse each season is an imaginary character by the name of Eddie Red. He’s a young NYC hustler from the mid ’70s. We begin every season with his imaginary guidance and fashion insight. This S/S 10 season takes inspiration from Ralph Ellison’s Invisible Man. We witness Red’s journey through a hostile city, meandering through his many obstacles and surviving through his anonymity. Its probably our most progressive season in terms of experimentation of fabrics. For spring we wanted something tough but still flowing and drape-y. Mercerized jerseys, 16gg sweater knits are accompanied by washed leathers and bleached denim. The silhouette remains strong and the neck line built high with an exaggerated slim bottom.
Everyone in the office is wearing at least one piece from PS.
